We are delighted to share the announcement of our upcoming litter from Mystical Maya of the Pleades x Tramin Lemonade

 

About Maya
Maya represents the heart of our breeding program. She is the daughter of our retired girl, Montalvo’s Noble Callie Calypso, and Tramin’s Player’s Pride. Pride was the sixth European male we carefully introduced into our lines, and his influence has been extraordinary. Over the years, we were honored to produce eleven litters with Pride and our four retired females, consistently seeing his outstanding qualities shine through.

Calypso, Maya’s mother, carries an equally special legacy as the daughter of fabulous International Champion Romeo Dewmist of the Dawn. We were honored to breed three of Romeo and Cameo Rose's daughters, Calypso, Phaser, and Spirit, each of whom has enriched our program in their own way.

 

Pride also paired beautifully with our Tramin import, Tsatsa, who is now retired, further cementing his place as one of the finest studs in our history.

Maya’s maternal grandmother, Cameo Rose, is another cornerstone of our program. Through her line, we carried forward three generations of exceptional males when we were still working with American Goldens. Cameo’s grandfather, Noble, great-grandfather, Banjo, and Banjo’s father, Nugget, were each important sires in our program throughout the 1990s. My first female Golden Nugget was bred first with the Lloyd's Nugget, and later Banjo. Our joke at the time was that we made McNuggets together. Later, the daughters of my Nugget were bred with Noble.

 

Nugget himself was particularly dear to me, as I had the privilege of working with his brother, Cloudy, in the 1980s—Cloudy was the sponsor dog for Jim Dandy for many years, and on the bag for as long as I can remember. I knew Cloudy and Nugget’s parents as well, dogs born in the late 1970s, making Maya a living link to the very roots of my life with Golden Retrievers.

Beyond her lineage, Maya is remarkable in her own right. She is one of the most intelligent dogs I have had since I was eighteen, with a loyal, intuitive nature. Though she sat out a season while I recovered from knee surgery, she has already provided us with three litters, three of her puppies now serve as working service dogs, changing lives with their devotion and skill.

 

About Lemonade
The sire of this litter, Tramin Lemonade, is a stunning import from the renowned Tramin Kennels in Ukraine, owned by Blue City Goldens in Tennessee. Lemonade brings excellent structure, a kind and balanced temperament, and an international pedigree of the highest quality.
